The Ministry of Social Development in Oman has launched a project aimed at developing Omani women's associations. This project seeks to strengthen the role of these associations and improve their performance in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040. Additionally, the aim of this project is to expand the scope of services and target groups and to create programs and initiatives that respond to the needs of Omani families and help strengthen their cohesion.

An Institutional Framework for Association Development

This project is part of the Ministry of Social Development's efforts to enhance the role of Omani women's associations and improve their institutional performance. These initiatives will be implemented through the establishment of family and community development centers that serve as a comprehensive institutional framework for the programs and services provided by the targeted associations. This framework will assist associations in responding to community needs and expanding their work towards social and economic empowerment, social support, psychological support, intergenerational dialogue, and the development of children and youth.

Diverse Programs for Target Groups

This project, in its first phase (2026-2027), focuses on developing three Omani women's associations in the Wilayats of Nizwa, Nakhal, and Sur, with plans to expand to other Wilayats in the future. The project includes ten programs distributed across six main axes: women's affairs, economic empowerment, social support, intergenerational dialogue, psychological support, and the development of children and youth. This diversity in programs reflects a response to social, familial, and developmental needs.

The programs include women and girls, families, children of all ages, the elderly, youth, students, caregivers, educators, and community members in Omani women's associations, addressing their social, familial, and developmental needs.

The Ministry of Social Development continues its efforts to develop the social work system and strengthen the role of civil society institutions, empowering Omani women's associations to fulfill their developmental and social roles and expanding their services and programs to meet the needs of women, families, and the community, aligning with the goals of the "Oman Vision 2040" for sustainable social development.
