He emphasized that holding this edition of the conference is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the status of free zones in the Sultanate of Oman as drivers of economic diversification, attracting investment, and stimulating regional trade.
Infrastructure Development and Investment Opportunities
Al-Yousef further explained that the Al-Maziyouna Free Zone, due to its border location with the Republic of Yemen, holds significant strategic importance and provides opportunities for the development of commercial, logistical, and industrial activities. He also announced that OPAZ is working in cooperation with the Public Authority for Industrial Estates and other relevant authorities to develop a competitive investment environment and improve services and procedures that support investors.
During this conference, two qualitative investment opportunities were also announced. The first opportunity involves the development of an integrated trade and services complex for vehicles and machinery over a proposed area of 100,000 square meters. The second opportunity relates to the development of an integrated center for processing and distributing fresh products such as vegetables, fruits, meat, and fish.
These investment opportunities aim to attract major developers or specialized consortiums for planning, developing, and operationalizing projects and attracting operational companies. The goal of these projects is to create integrated destinations for commercial, technical, and logistical activities related to vehicles and machinery.
Finally, Al-Hudabi, CEO of the Public Authority for Industrial Estates, highlighted the integrated capabilities of the Al-Maziyouna Free Zone in attracting investment and localizing projects, adding that the development of infrastructure and automation of investment processes provides investors with the necessary conditions to establish, launch, and expand their businesses.
