Duqm Refinery in Oman, under the management of Abdullah Al-Ajmi, has increased its production to 255,000 barrels per day. This refinery aims to create sustainable added value as an industrial and strategic asset. This success is attributed to operational efficiency, strategic location, and access to global markets.

Impact on Target Markets and Competitiveness

Abdullah Al-Ajmi emphasized that Duqm Refinery contributes to diversifying target markets and enhancing competitiveness in the refining sector. These efforts align with the aspirations of the Sultanate of Oman and the government of Kuwait, strengthening the economic value of this project. The refinery's revenues are expected to reach around $7 billion by 2025, indicating significant business growth and its increasing role in regional and global markets.

High Production Performance and Workplace Safety

This refinery has managed to operate beyond its design capacity of 230,000 barrels per day, demonstrating the efficiency of operational processes and the reliability of production units. In the first half of 2026, diesel production averaged 115,400 barrels per day, jet fuel 38,500 barrels per day, naphtha 61,100 barrels per day, and LPG reached 800 metric tons per day. Additionally, the refinery produced 2,200 metric tons per day of petroleum coke and 500 metric tons per day of sulfur.

These figures reflect the refinery's flexibility and its ability to respond to global demand for key petroleum products, especially diesel and jet fuel. Its strategic location provides a competitive advantage in accessing multiple markets in Asia, Africa, and Europe.

In terms of occupational health, safety, and the environment, Abdullah Al-Ajmi emphasized that the company employs best practices and international regulations to maintain a workplace free from time-loss incidents. These efforts have led to receiving a gold award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents for performance in occupational health, safety, and the environment.

Abdullah Al-Ajmi described the current status of Duqm Refinery as a successful model of strategic partnership between Kuwait and the Sultanate of Oman. This project can create sustainable added value for the economies of Kuwait and Oman while strengthening its presence in global markets and supporting the future of the refining and petrochemical industry in the region.
