The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs of Oman announced the start date for registration for Hajj 1448 Hijri for citizens and residents of the country. Registration will be conducted electronically from September 28 to October 11, 2023. This initiative aims to facilitate the registration process and increase transparency in the selection of Hajj companies for pilgrims.
Details of Registration and Selection of Hajj Companies
The Ministry of Awqaf emphasized in a statement that Hajj companies are not allowed to interfere in the registration process to ensure transparency and freedom of choice for pilgrims. Pilgrims are required to select a Hajj company from the registration system, which means agreeing with that company and financial commitment. Pilgrims must pay a specified percentage of the cost electronically through the system. This electronic contract is binding for both parties, namely the pilgrims and the Hajj companies, and in case of late payment, the Ministry of Awqaf reserves the right to cancel the registration request.
Important Points in Registration and Related Timelines
The Ministry of Awqaf also announced that any registration request submitted before this announcement, after the specified deadline, or lacking the necessary documents will not be considered. The process of informing eligible pilgrims and selecting the Hajj company for the first group will take place from November 21 to November 11, 2023. The selection of the Hajj company for the second group will be from November 16 to November 22, and for the third group from November 24 to November 27.
Additionally, the Hajj Conference and Exhibition will be held from October 22 to October 24. The final deadline for submitting cancellation requests is set for February 27, 2024, and the final date for air travel will be until May 12, 2024.
