The police have confirmed that search operations at two properties in London have concluded and the arrested individual has now been released. In recent days, five other men were also arrested near the base, who were released without any charges after questioning. These individuals were detained on suspicion of committing terrorist offenses and using explosives.
International Claims and Consequences
In the wake of these incidents, British security officials are investigating whether a foreign country was involved in this suspicious plot. Prime Minister Andy Burnham has also mentioned the possible connection of this incident to Iran. On the other hand, former U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that there was a plan to cause "significant harm" at this base. Additionally, Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, has referred to the role of "a foreign actor" in this incident.
Iran has strongly denied these claims, deeming them baseless. In this context, the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the British ambassador in Tehran to express dissatisfaction with these allegations. These developments reflect the increasing tensions between the two countries and international security concerns.
