Qais Mohammed Al-Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones in Oman, met with Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and his accompanying delegation currently in Oman.

Exploring Economic Cooperation Opportunities

During this meeting, methods to strengthen cooperation in the areas of economic, free, and industrial zones were discussed, as well as new areas for partnership in logistics, investment, and trade, and enhancing cooperation between the business communities of the two countries.

Both sides referred to several areas of mutual interest, including production, logistics, cold chains, food security, and agriculture, as well as existing opportunities for establishing projects and investment partnerships in these sectors.

Utilizing the Advantages of Special Economic Zones

They also examined the exploitation of the expertise and relative advantages that special economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities in Oman possess. During the meeting, the public authority reviewed the competitive advantages of these zones and the integrated investment environment they provide to support the establishment, growth, and expansion of projects.

This topic also emphasized Oman's strategic position and its connection to a network of ports, airports, and infrastructure and logistics capabilities, which in turn increases access to regional and global markets and provides a suitable foundation for companies looking to expand and reach new markets.

The meeting also discussed mechanisms to strengthen mutual cooperation in investment opportunities, exchange of experiences and information, and encouraging reciprocal visits of trade delegations, merchants, and investors. These matters help transform areas of mutual interest into partnerships and investment projects and strengthen communications between the private sector entities of both countries.

Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining communication and coordination to explore sustainable economic investment opportunities and create long-term partnerships that leverage the existing potentials of both countries.
