Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah) of Brunei Darussalam hosted a state banquet this evening at Istana Nurul Iman in honor of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik (Sultan Haitham bin Tarik) of Oman. In his speech, the Sultan of Brunei expressed his honor and pleasure at meeting the Sultan of Oman and once again welcomed the Sultan and his accompanying delegation.
Strengthening Long-standing Relations
Sultan Haitham bin Tarik also stated in his speech: “Your invitation to accept this banquet has greatly pleased us. I sincerely thank you for the warm reception, generous hospitality, and affectionate feelings you have shown to me and my accompanying delegation. This warm welcome reflects the valuable relations between our two countries, which are held in the highest regard.

The Sultan of Oman continued: “Your country is a land that always holds a special place in our hearts, and our friendship is intertwined with sincerity, mutual affection, and lasting goodwill. This visit reminds us of our trip to Brunei Darussalam in 2014, which remains memorable due to the warm welcome and the opportunity to get to know your rich heritage and vibrant traditions more closely.
Advancements in Cooperation and Shared Future
At this banquet, the Sultan of Oman referred to the rich history and civilization of Brunei, adding: “Our two countries have a long and rich history that dates back centuries. Brunei, as a historic nation, is rooted in a rich civilization that has flourished for centuries. Constructive exchanges between Oman and Brunei in recent years have brought our two countries closer and fostered warm relations and cultural understanding.
Sultan Haitham also emphasized the importance of increasing cooperation in educational and cultural fields, stating: “We are pleased with the advancements in our cooperation in education, culture, as well as investment and other areas that contribute to the welfare and comfort of our people. In particular, we emphasize the importance of strengthening relations among the younger generations so that the friendship we have today continues in the years to come.
At the end of his speech, the Sultan of Oman thanked Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and the royal family of Brunei, the government, and the people of this country for their warm reception and unparalleled hospitality, wishing the Sultan of Brunei health, happiness, and prosperity. He also wished for stability and lasting peace for the brotherly people of this noble nation.
This banquet was attended by the official Omani delegation and senior Bruneian officials, providing an opportunity to emphasize friendly relations and future cooperation.
