The Importance of Preserving Cultural and Ethical Identity
Dr. Wafa Said Al Mamari, a professor and head of the Department of Sociology and Social Work at the university, highlighted the importance of strengthening values and ethics among students during the ceremony. She emphasized that these actions are essential for maintaining the psychological and intellectual security of students, as well as preserving cultural identity and national and religious values. In this context, building a generation that is guided by knowledge, protects values, and can distinguish between useful and harmful content in the digital world is of special importance.
The "Our Values, Our Digital Identity" campaign is based on a set of values including belonging, safety, credibility, respect, responsibility, dialogue, and balance. This campaign emphasizes that digital citizenship goes beyond the correct use of technology, and an individual's presence in the digital world should reflect their values, identity, and responsible behavior in society.
