The Projects Organization, Tenders and Local Content of Oman, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, launched a new electronic feature on the "Amanah" digital platform in the request management system on Sunday, aimed at reducing the supply cycle of cardiac surgery supplies to 48 hours. This initiative will assist in providing medical supplies for the National Heart Center at the Royal Hospital.

Launch Ceremony and Emphasis on Institutional Integration

The launch ceremony of this project was held under the patronage of Dr. Hilal Ali Al-Sabti, Minister of Health. Engineer Thamer Said Al-Kathiri, representative of the General Supply Department at the Projects Organization, emphasized that this initiative represents a tangible model of effective integration of government institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.

This plan seeks to pioneer administrative and technological tools that effectively contribute to increasing the efficiency of public spending, improving the quality of healthcare services, and enhancing the sustainability of medical supply chains with maximum efficiency.

Transformation in the Supply Cycle and Improvement of Healthcare Services

Al-Kathiri explained that linking framework contracts to the request management system has created a qualitative leap and radically reduced the time required to process requests. The supply cycle has now decreased from a long period that previously ranged between 45 to 120 days to 24 to 48 hours.

He emphasized that this system allows for the provision of recurring needs without the need to conduct new tenders for each request while offering stable prices and conditions that help preserve financial resources and facilitate the documentation cycle.

The platform currently includes 229 essential cardiac surgery supplies that are provided through framework contracts with 23 local suppliers, representing prominent companies and brands, thus granting the National Heart Center flexibility and continuity in uninterrupted supply.

Dr. Hamoud Nasr Al-Kindi, head of the cardiac surgery department at the National Heart Center of the Royal Hospital, stated that this concept has emerged in response to rapid developments in the healthcare sector, particularly in the field of cardiac and vascular surgery. This project has created a qualitative change in supply systems and healthcare services and directly impacts the quality of healthcare services by facilitating procedures, speeding up the provision of needs, and offering an accurate database that supports future planning and budgeting.

This project is a practical translation of the Sultanate of Oman's approaches to leveraging innovative digital solutions for the development of the public supply system and ensuring a seamless transition from traditional procedures to an integrated digital environment managed according to the highest standards of efficiency and transparency.
