Donald Trump's stance on Iran
The United States government, led by Donald Trump, the President of this country, has announced that if negotiations to end tensions with Iran progress, the likelihood of a military attack on this country will be very low. Trump stated in a phone interview with CNN: "It depends on whether they sign a very strong agreement or not. The answer to that question is likely that such action is not needed."
Continuing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz
While Trump has emphasized the low likelihood of a military attack, reports indicate that commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz have been targeted. Iranian officials have stated that explosions in some southern areas of the country are related to Iranian military activities and not to U.S. attacks. Iranian state television has also confirmed that no missile attacks on Iranian territory have been verified following these explosions.

Despite these statements, the United States and Iran continue their attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, which have significant impacts on energy exports and other essential goods for the global economy. In this context, U.S. military forces have announced that they targeted a commercial ship in the Gulf of Oman and disabled it.
Reports of missile attacks
The Tasnim news agency has reported that two missiles have struck Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, but no official information regarding potential damages has been released. Additionally, U.S. officials have recently announced that they have formed a special force to counter Iranian movements to prevent the transfer of advanced weapons to Iran through land and Caspian Sea borders.
The naval units of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard have also reported that two oil tankers caught fire after hitting mines while trying to pass through an "unauthorized route" in the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has announced that an office building belonging to the state oil company Saudi Aramco in Riyadh was damaged due to debris from a failed attack.
Negotiations with Qatar and Iran's demands
Qatar, which is mediating to end tensions in the region, has recently denied reports of a lack of agreement between the United States and Iran, emphasizing that both sides are working towards reaching an agreement. Iran has also sent its nuclear proposal to Washington through Qatar, and Iranian officials have stressed that the talks depend on the fulfillment of Tehran's seven demands.
These demands include the reduction of sanctions, access to frozen assets, and war reparations. At the same time, the United States emphasizes that nuclear issues must be included in the initial negotiations.
