The United States government, led by Donald Trump, announced on Sunday that the likelihood of issuing a new attack order against Iran is very low if negotiations to end tensions progress. Trump stated in a phone interview: "It depends on whether they sign a very strong agreement or not. The answer is that probably there will be no need for that."
Tensions in the Strait of Hormuz
On the same day, three oil tankers caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that these tankers were passing through an illegal channel. This Iranian military body stated in a statement: "From the early hours of this morning, three illegal oil tankers have exploded and caught fire while moving in an illegal channel in the Strait of Hormuz." This incident occurred as Iran continuously attacks vessels that pass without its permission.

Other reports of maritime incidents
Additionally, the UK Maritime Agency, UKMTO, reported that an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz - near the shores of Khasab, Oman - caught fire the day before. This agency stated that military officials reported that the tanker was on fire, leading to the evacuation of the crew. It was also reported that another tanker collided with an "unknown projectile" on Saturday. State media in the United Arab Emirates also reported that 22 people from a burning ship in the Gulf of Oman were rescued and are in stable condition.
The IRNA news agency also reported, citing local sources, that explosion sounds were heard in some parts of the country, such as Qeshm, Sirik, Jask, and Bandar Abbas. This news agency wrote: "Sounds similar to explosions have been heard in these areas. The cause of these sounds is still unclear." Officials confirmed that a "blast" was reported in the city of Bandar Jask.
These incidents occur as tensions between the United States and Iran have sharply increased, raising concerns about the possibility of a more serious military conflict. Meanwhile, the United States government is seeking to establish agreements that could help calm the situation and prevent war.
