ADNOC has stated that OpenAI's AI models will enable the company to be the first energy company in the world to use this technology to assess the value of each barrel of oil while it is still in the ground. This agreement also includes G42, a UAE-based company active in the field of artificial intelligence, which is chaired by the brother of the President of the UAE.
Development of AI Technology in Government Entities
Altman met with Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and signed several agreements for the integration of artificial intelligence into government entities, investment funds, and companies. The Abu Dhabi government and OpenAI are launching the "world's first AI-readable government initiative," which will allow AI-based systems to assist officials in regulatory compliance assessments.
This initiative will help managers in evaluations related to licensing and certifications. A pilot test in the field of food importation is currently underway in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority.
The state investment company Mubadala, OpenAI, and Inception42, which is part of G42, signed an agreement for the application of AI in "investment analysis, opportunity identification, and risk assessment." They also signed a five-year agreement for the adoption of Frontier AI across all government entities, companies, and educational systems.
Sultan Al Jaber, CEO and Chairman of ADNOC, stated: "Since the emergence of ChatGPT, the world has been asking us what energy can do for artificial intelligence, and now we will see together what artificial intelligence can do for energy."
