At its Brand Night event in Dubai, XPENG unveiled its new SUV models, the GX and G9L. Expansion in the Middle East Market
XPENG aims to enter all six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets by the end of this year. The company also plans to expand to over 20 countries and regions in the Middle East and Africa by 2027 and establish more than 100 sales and service centers. Kunpeng Range Extender Technology
The Kunpeng Range Extender technology, introduced in the GX and G9L models, is designed to reduce range anxiety and can cover long distances without the need for recharging. This technology allows users to enjoy the electric driving experience while having greater travel freedom. With 800-volt architecture and ultra-fast charging, the battery can quickly charge from 10% to 80%.
The GX model successfully traveled 1,231 kilometers from the UAE to Oman in harsh desert conditions and high temperatures without the need for recharging. This demonstrates the outstanding capabilities of this vehicle in difficult conditions.
Luxury and Safety Features in New Models
Both the GX and G9L models are designed with luxury features and advanced technologies. The GX, as an executive and luxury model, focuses more on comfort and interior space, providing seating for six adults and ample luggage space. This model has also attracted over 4,000 confirmed orders in the Middle East.
The G9L offers a dynamic approach tailored to lifestyle, providing flexible space for family trips and outdoor adventures. The rear-wheel steering capability of up to 15 degrees allows this large SUV to have a smaller turning radius.
In the United Arab Emirates, the price of the GX model is set at 299,000 dirhams (297,679 Qatari riyals), while the G9L will be offered at a starting price of 259,000 dirhams (257,856 Qatari riyals). Both models will be launched simultaneously in 11 countries, and pre-orders are now open.
Investment in the Future of the Middle East
XPENG continues to expand its local network and collaborate with local partners in the region, aiming to provide long-term services to its customers. Since entering the UAE in October 2024 with Ali & Sons, the company has expanded its presence in Qatar and other Middle Eastern countries and will also enter Tunisia, Bahrain, Morocco, and Mauritius in 2026.
