In a significant meeting in New Delhi, Xi Jinping, the President of China, referred to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East and called on BRICS countries to act as peace-makers in the region. He clearly stated that the current war brings no benefit to the global community and emphasized the importance of cooperation among the members of this bloc.

Forming a Common Front

Xi Jinping stated that China is ready to work alongside other BRICS members, including Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates, to strive for peace in the Middle East. He pointed out that this war not only harms regional security but also has global repercussions.

These remarks come as tensions in the Middle East have reached a peak and the humanitarian crisis in the region is escalating. China, as a global power on the international stage, has always presented itself as a responsible player in global affairs and this time also seeks to play an active role in resolving crises.

Can BRICS Bring Peace Back to the Middle East?

Given the diversity and political power of BRICS member countries, the question arises whether this group can act as an effective entity in peace negotiations. Xi Jinping further added that diplomacy and constructive dialogue could help reduce tensions and create an environment for peace.

Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether Xi Jinping's request can be a serious move towards achieving peace in the Middle East or merely another political claim. However, these statements reflect China's seriousness in playing international roles and its efforts to maintain stability in critical regions of the world.
