Yemen is facing a deep humanitarian crisis, and recent conflicts have exacerbated the situation. According to recent reports, it is expected that up to 100,000 more people will be displaced from their homes, indicating an increase in displacement among the people of Yemen.
Risk of Displacement Due to Increasing Conflicts
In September, over 130,000 people were forced to leave their homes due to escalating conflicts in Yemen. These conflicts are primarily occurring between the Ansar Allah forces, which are supported by Iran, and the Yemeni government forces, which are backed by Saudi Arabia. As the Ansar Allah forces advance along the Red Sea coast, new dimensions have been added to this crisis.

UNHCR spokesperson Babar Baloch announced at a press conference in Geneva that given the current situation, more people in Yemen may be forced to flee the country. Predictions indicate that this displacement may extend to countries such as Djibouti, Somalia, and others.
Humanitarian Challenges and Urgent Needs
Most of the displaced have remained within Yemen, but over 3,000 have fled by boat to Africa. Weather forecasts suggest that this number may increase to about 10,000 in the coming month, especially as the seas become calmer and conditions for fleeing become easier.
The UNHCR also noted that the response plan for the Yemen crisis is less than 20% funded. This lack of financial resources, in a context where needs have sharply increased, has raised further concerns.
In these complex circumstances, the international community must pay more attention to the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and increase its efforts to assist the displaced and meet their basic needs. This crisis affects not only the people of Yemen but also regional stability, requiring an immediate and coordinated response from various countries.
