Reactions from Officials and Consequences
This attack prompted a swift reaction from King Abdullah. He issued strict orders to security forces to respond to what officials described as extremist terrorism. This attack occurred while Jordan is recognized as a relatively stable country in the Middle East, and officials have recently thwarted several extremist plots.
Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, Jordanian authorities are working to identify and apprehend the attackers. Zaid Al-Halsa, Sahar's husband, who rushed to the church, felt a deep sense of relief when he realized his wife was safe and told her: 'To my uncles, may God have mercy on them.'
Pastor Yohana Hamati expressed his message from the church before the funeral ceremony, stating: 'Our message from this church, from this place where this horrific crime occurred, is a message of love, peace, and assurance. A message we send to the whole world.'
