Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, rejected Donald Trump's claims, the President of the United States, about achieving peace in Gaza during his final speech at the United Nations and emphasized the lack of any humanitarian corridor opening in the region. Macron stated that this situation, especially under current conditions, should bring shame to the world.

Critique of Trump's Diplomacy in Gaza

In his speech delivered at the United Nations General Assembly on September 22, Macron strongly criticized Trump's narrative regarding the Gaza peace plan. He said: "A year ago, in this very hall, about twelve countries recognized Palestine. But what credibility do we have if we remain inactive in the face of Gaza?" He emphasized that the claimed peace has not achieved any progress in reopening humanitarian access to Gaza, shouting: "This spectacle should shame us all."

France's Diplomatic Challenges

Subsequently, Macron referred to criticisms regarding his performance in supporting Palestinians in France. While emphasizing that the situation in the West Bank is worsening daily, he noted: "In the West Bank, violations occur daily, and Hamas has never operated in this area." Macron also pointed to the increasing tensions in France-Israel relations, stating that those who believe that violating the sovereignty of Israel's neighbors guarantees the security of this country are mistaken.

He also highlighted the importance of respecting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people for their existence, adding: "What is currently happening in the West Bank is making it increasingly difficult to realize a project that should be based on respect for the human realities of the Palestinian people."

Macron further emphasized the necessity of strengthening the multilateral system and the United Nations, stating: "Our duty, more than ever, is to stand by the United Nations. We cannot accept a new order of impunity that some wish to create." He concluded his speech with a shout of "Long live the United Nations!"
