The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that regional meetings must focus on examining the roots of insecurity in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. These remarks come as tensions and security challenges in this strategic region remain one of the most important issues in international relations.

The Necessity of Addressing the Roots of Insecurity

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson pointed out that the existing insecurities in the Persian Gulf depend on multiple factors, saying: "A root-cause analysis of insecurities and security challenges can help solve problems." In his view, regional meetings should be designed not only to address security issues but also to identify and examine the roots of these problems.

Call for Seriousness in Diplomacy

He also urged European countries to adhere to international law and existing agreements to prove their seriousness in the path of diplomacy. This request is particularly relevant in light of recent developments in the Persian Gulf and their impact on regional security. The Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that only through dialogue and cooperation can peace and stability be achieved in this region.

Continuing his remarks, he highlighted the importance of regional cooperation, adding: "The Gulf countries must work together to find solutions to reduce tensions and increase security in the region." This cooperation will not only benefit the countries in the region but can also contribute to global stability.

Given the geographical position of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, through which about one-fifth of global oil trade passes, the security of this region is of high importance to various countries. Therefore, any tension or insecurity in this area can have serious consequences for the global economy.

Existing Security Challenges

Security challenges in the Persian Gulf include threats arising from the military activities of extra-regional countries, internal unrest, and tensions stemming from inter-state disputes. The Foreign Ministry spokesperson, stressing the importance of holding regional meetings to address these challenges, added: "These meetings can provide an opportunity for dialogue and understanding among the countries in the region."

Ultimately, he emphasized the need to establish effective mechanisms to counter security threats and increase regional cooperation, stating: "The development of diplomacy and dialogue among the countries in the region can lead to a reduction in tensions and an increase in security."
