The President of Iran, at the UN General Assembly in New York, emphasized firmly and resolutely that Tehran will "never kneel." This speech was the first official response from the President of Iran to the military aggressions and threats from the United States and Israel since the onset of the recent war.

Accusation of Terrorism and Defense of National Positions

Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, accused Washington of committing "terrorism" and referred to the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the former leader of Iran. By showing a picture of the late leader, he emphasized that Iran has never been the initiator of war.

Meanwhile, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, spoke on Tuesday at the United Nations about the possibility of "destroying" Iran, but also mentioned new negotiations between Tehran and American negotiators. Pezeshkian did not refer to these negotiations in his speech and emphasized the resilience of the Iranian people against pressures and sanctions.

Consequences of International Pressures

Pezeshkian noted in part of his remarks: "Trump must understand that the resistance of the Iranian people against sanctions and increasing pressures will only grow, and we will never bow our heads." These statements clearly reflect Iran's determination to confront external threats.

He also emphasized the importance of the Strait of Hormuz and stated that Iran will not allow this waterway, which has been under siege since the beginning of the war, to be used for aggression against his country. "We cannot allow some to exploit this waterway for their own interests while using it to impose aggression against us," Pezeshkian added.

Given the surge in fuel prices, these threats could carry significant political costs for Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections in November. Pezeshkian's presence at this diplomatic event in New York faced doubts regarding visa issuance, but ultimately the United States granted him entry, although several of his accompanying members were denied visas.
