Ismail Baqaei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in an exclusive interview, discussed the regional developments and the consequences of the aggressions by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran. He highlighted the importance of the security of the Persian Gulf and stressed the need for realistic dialogues in this regard.
Consequences of Foreign Aggressions

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also pointed out that such actions pose a threat to national sovereignty and freedom of navigation in the region, and their repercussions will affect all neighboring countries. He emphasized that pressure and threats cannot force the Iranian nation to accept illegal demands, adding: "The experience of the past five decades has clearly shown this."
Consultations Between Iran and Oman
Furthermore, Baqaei referred to the consultations between Iran and Oman to create a new mechanism for managing the Strait of Hormuz. He stated that Iran and Oman, as the two coastal countries of this strait, have a special responsibility in ensuring the security of shipping in it. Baqaei expressed: "In recent months, we have conducted consultations to determine safe routes for ships and have reached understandings in this regard."
He also distinguished between "the understanding between Iran and Oman regarding safe passage routes" and "the overall situation of the Strait of Hormuz," stating: "Any sustainable mechanism for managing and ensuring the security of the strait must be shaped with the participation of the two coastal countries and with consideration of their sovereignty concerns."
In response to the question of whether current developments could bring neighboring countries and members of the Gulf Cooperation Council closer to Iran's positions, he said: "It seems that recent developments have important lessons for the countries of the region. We have always emphasized that regional security must be ensured by the countries of the region."
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasizing Iran's principled policy of good neighborliness and developing relations with regional countries, stated: "We have long stressed the necessity of establishing intra-regional security arrangements, and recent developments have provided a suitable opportunity for dialogue about the future security of the Persian Gulf."
Finally, Baqaei referred to Egypt's role in bringing Iran and neighboring countries closer together, stating: "Egypt is an important and influential country in the Arab world, and we have always emphasized the significance of its position and role in regional developments." He also stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran is always prepared to defend against any aggression and threat and will utilize all its capacities to maintain national security.
