Ismail Baqaei, spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, in response to a question about the passage of oil tankers from Iraq and Algeria through the Strait of Hormuz and the status of Iran's plan as the last diplomatic opportunity, stated that the security of the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf region depends on stopping the aggressive and interventionist actions of the United States.
The Role of Diplomacy in Regional Security
Baqaei noted that the insecurity of the Strait of Hormuz has arisen following attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime, pointing out that the main question in this regard is what actions should be taken to ensure regional security. He added that diplomacy has always been one of Iran's main tools to prevent escalation of tensions and achieve peace.
Iran's Approach to Diplomacy
This official from the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that despite the existing challenges and problems, Iran has never turned away from diplomacy. Baqaei reminded that despite evidence of non-compliance by the opposing parties with their commitments, Iran is always ready to take advantage of diplomatic opportunities. He emphasized that even with a slim chance, Iran will seize every opportunity to advance diplomacy.
Considering past experiences, Baqaei pointed out that the American side shows no seriousness in utilizing diplomatic tools, but Iran is always striving to take advantage of every opportunity to reduce tensions. This approach reflects Iran's strong will to maintain regional security and prevent any military confrontation.
Finally, the spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry emphasized the importance of cooperation among regional countries to ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, stating that the only sustainable solution is cooperation and dialogue among neighboring countries and halting foreign interventions.
