Israeli airstrikes in Gaza on Thursday led to the deaths of three individuals. According to health officials, one person died in Gaza City and two others in different locations across the coastal strip.

Details of the Strikes

Images released from the scene show a crowd gathered around a burned vehicle in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City, while rescue workers in orange vests attempt to extinguish the remnants of the fire. Reports indicate that another strike targeting a Palestinian man who was cycling in Khan Younis also resulted in his death. Additionally, gunfire near the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza killed a woman.

Israeli Forces' Claims

Israeli military forces stated that they targeted a member of Hamas in Khan Younis, but did not provide further details on this matter. These forces are also continuing to investigate reports related to the strikes in the Jabalia camp and the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood. Israel claims that Hamas is rearming and conducting attacks in violation of a year-long ceasefire, which is why it has increased its airstrikes in recent weeks.

Hamas's Reaction and Ceasefire Consequences

Hamas has strongly denied these claims and accused Israel of undermining the peace agreement in Gaza. The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, brokered by the United States, refers to the reconstruction of land damaged by past wars, but there has been little significant progress in negotiations to determine the terms for disarming Hamas and withdrawing Israeli forces from Gaza.

According to health officials, at least 1,500 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire began, while Israel has reported that four of its soldiers have lost their lives. Palestinian officials have also stated that more than 74,000 people have died as a result of Israeli attacks on Gaza following an assault that led to the deaths of around 1,200 people in southern Israel on October 7, 2023.
