Badr al-Busaidi, referring to the importance of this strait, said: "We in Oman are committed to cooperating with regional countries and the international community to protect freedom of navigation in these waters, and this is essential for regional stability and security." He also mentioned Oman's efforts to establish dialogues and collaborations with other countries in this regard and emphasized that the country will never neglect its mission to protect freedom of navigation.
Challenges and Solutions
Oman's emphasis on protecting freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz comes at a time when tensions in the region have increased due to political and military developments. In particular, economic sanctions and military tensions among various countries in the Gulf have posed serious challenges to freedom of navigation. Oman, by adopting a diplomatic approach and cooperating with other countries, seeks to reduce these tensions and ensure maritime security.
The Foreign Minister of Oman also stressed the importance of information exchange and security cooperation with neighboring countries, stating that only through joint cooperation can sustainable security be achieved. He reminded that Oman has always acted as a neutral country and mediator in resolving regional conflicts and is ready to work towards maintaining peace and security in the region.
Finally, Badr al-Busaidi, referring to Oman's history in diplomacy and the country's role in establishing peace and stability in the Gulf, emphasized the importance of continuing these efforts and stressing international cooperation in maritime security. He said: "As a small country, we can have a significant impact on the security and stability of the region, and we will continue this commitment with seriousness."
