Qatar called the statements attributed to Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, its Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, incorrect and misleading. These statements were made in relation to the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, and Qatar emphasized that mediation efforts in this regard continue.

Qatar's Clarification on the Prime Minister's Statements

In a statement released early Saturday, Qatar's international media office stated that the Prime Minister's and Foreign Minister's statements had been deliberately distorted. These distortions were particularly made by individuals who benefit from the continuation of war and instability in the region.

The office added that many of the claims were published through fake accounts, and their aim was to undermine diplomatic efforts and exacerbate tensions. Qatar condemned this act as highly irresponsible.

Continuation of Negotiations and Qatar's Role

Sheikh Mohammed announced on Friday that both parties are continuously working on an agreement, and Qatari mediators are closely collaborating with the United States and Iran to support the progress of negotiations. Previously, the Iraqi news agency Shafaq News reported that the Prime Minister of Qatar stated that Washington and Tehran have failed to reach a comprehensive agreement and urged both sides to accept a suitable agreement instead of following a "complete" agreement.

Since the start of the war on February 28, when the United States and Israel attacked Iran, Qatar has acted as a mediator between the two sides. A ceasefire was established in April, and in recent days, Qatari mediators traveled to Tehran to discuss the draft agreement. An Iranian delegation also held talks in Doha last weekend.

The United States government has also stated, quoting its former President Donald Trump, that "we are making good progress with Iran."
