The Royal Oman Police (ROP), on behalf of the General Directorate of Customs, has announced plans to hold an online auction for the sale of various goods at Salalah Port. This auction, which will be conducted through the Bayan online system, provides an opportunity for buyers to participate on September 30, 2026.

Conditions for Participation in the Auction

Interested buyers must register in the Bayan system. This process is mandatory to ensure that all participants meet the necessary requirements. Additionally, applicants can inspect the available goods on Monday and Tuesday, September 28 and 29, 2026, at Salalah Port. There is also an option to review the goods via the barcode scan below.

Payment Methods and Delivery of Goods

The auction winner is required to immediately pay for the purchased goods using electronic payment devices after the auction concludes. Once customs procedures are completed and necessary permits are obtained, the goods will be delivered to the auction winner. It is important to note that the General Directorate of Customs bears no responsibility for any damage to the goods after the sale.

The auction winner must contact the Dhofar Customs Department to collect their goods during official working hours from October 4 to 8, 2026. A penalty of 10 Omani Rials will be applied for each day of delay in collecting the goods.

Background and Importance of the Auction

This auction reflects the ongoing efforts of the Royal Oman Police to facilitate business processes and enhance transparency in customs transactions. Given the growing trend of trade in Oman and the importance of Salalah Port as a strategic commercial hub in the region, holding such auctions can help improve economic conditions and attract investors.

In light of recent developments in economic and commercial sectors, such initiatives can play a significant role in boosting the local market and increasing international trade interactions.
