Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, stated that at present, we do not see a need to meet with American officials. In an interview with a media outlet, he assessed the American side's efforts to open a dialogue and broader understanding as positive.

There is no plan to meet with Americans

Araghchi stated that if Washington's goal with the letter from JD Vance, Deputy to Donald Trump, is to stir controversy, this action adds another mistake to previous ones, emphasizing that what is being discussed regarding a meeting with American officials is merely media speculation.

Iran's conditions for future negotiations

The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that his country's conditions are clear and that mediators are continuing their consultations regarding them. He also mentioned that an Iranian delegation has traveled to Doha and his assistant is present in Qatar to continue the consultations.

Araghchi referred to the efforts of Qatari and Pakistani mediators to continue discussions about Iran's conditions and added: "Mediators have made proposals regarding the nuclear issue that we are currently reviewing. We thank Qatar and Pakistan for their efforts and ongoing communications."

He also referred to Iran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and said: "Our proposal is the only one on the table, and the Qatari side has proposed reducing the implementation time of this proposal to five days, which we have now reduced to two days."

The Iranian Foreign Minister further called for the lifting of sanctions and the release of his country's frozen assets, mentioning other conditions of Iran such as a ceasefire and an end to the war on all fronts. He emphasized that reopening the Strait of Hormuz according to Iran's conditions will pave the way for negotiations with Washington on remaining issues.

Araghchi did not rule out the possibility of war and said: "We are prepared for all scenarios, have modernized our weapons, and our forces are at the highest level of readiness." The Iranian Foreign Minister also emphasized his country's commitment to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
