Yaqoob Razazadeh, a member of the National Security Commission's board and representative of the people of Salmas in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, reacted to the President's remarks that "we want power for peace, not for war," emphasizing the importance of national power as a fundamental tool in today's world. He stated: "Power is a tool to prevent invasion and oppression against countries, and any country that possesses defensive and offensive power is less likely to be targeted by enemies."
The Necessity of Military and Diplomatic Power
Razazadeh continued: "If Iran wants to remain an influential country in West Asia, it must possess high levels of military, defensive, scientific, economic, and political components so that enemies do not covet the nation and its territory." He added that the higher the level of power, the less motivation there is for enemy aggression, stating: "Having power and authority is essential for a country that wants to stay away from the threats and invasions of ill-wishers on the global stage."

Past Experiences and Current Position
This parliament member referred to the experiences of recent wars and stated: "Negotiation without sufficient deterrent power is inadequate. In the first and second wars, the enemy attacked our country during negotiations, and we witnessed the martyrdom of commanders. At that time, the enemy was unaware of the resilience of the Iranian nation and thought it could deal with us like countries such as Iraq and Libya, unaware that our geographical and strategic position would disrupt their calculations."
Razazadeh also pointed out that the enemy has concluded that it cannot defeat Iran with military tools and is unlikely to resort to military aggression again. He noted: "Today, the enemy is counting on internal division and economic pressure, and we must be vigilant and avoid any kind of rumor-mongering."
Furthermore, Razazadeh referred to Trump's exaggerations about Iran and said: "They do not have the capacity to implement such a scenario, and if they want to carry out such rhetoric, we will not allow it by relying on our military power." He emphasized that during the eight years of sacred defense, Saddam's regime, with the support of global powers, waged war against us, but ultimately failed, and today the equations have changed.
Finally, Razazadeh stressed that the key to success against enemies is maintaining national unity and strengthening the armed forces. He added: "We must focus on the economy while simultaneously strengthening our armed forces' power day by day."
