Iran has stated that any new war with the United States could be longer than previous conflicts. This warning was made by Mohammad Akraminiyeh, the army spokesman, following recent remarks by President Donald Trump that there are still targets in Iran that need to be addressed.

Threats and Diplomatic Tensions

Akraminiyeh said in an interview with Iranian state television: "The next war may be longer than previous wars, and the President of the United States is not in a position to determine the time or conditions for its end." These remarks came in the wake of repeated threats from the United States and Israel of renewed attacks in the Middle East and on the eve of critical elections in those countries.

The Trump administration has specifically pointed to targets in Iran and stated that it can quickly strike these targets. Trump said in an interview: "We still have to address one or two locations, but we can do this in 10 minutes." He referred to Mount Pikaaks, which is said to be an underground nuclear facility.

Warnings from Iranian Officials

High-ranking military and political officials in Iran have warned against any new attacks. Hossein Mohibi, spokesman for the Revolutionary Guard, warned of the consequences of a conflict with the United States, stating: "In a conflict with the United States, there are no geographical limitations, and a wide field for harming the enemy is defined."

Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, also stated: "We hope the other side acts with reason and logic and chooses diplomacy." He added that Iran is "ready for defense and diplomacy."

These warnings come as Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, announced receiving a letter from U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance regarding the revival of negotiations. Rezaei referred to a positive change in the tone of negotiations but stated that he has not yet responded.

Since the beginning of this war, Iran has taken control of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy artery, and has repeatedly attacked ships passing without Iran's permission. The United States has also imposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports.

Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates, said at a conference in Manama that the country hopes discussions will lead to diplomatic progress but is also prepared for the worst-case scenario.
