The Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, clearly stated in a recent interview that the end of the war with the United States depends on the choice of this country. These remarks came in response to a reporter's question about the possibility of ending the war by the end of this year. Pezeshkian said: "We do not want to continue. It is America that must choose whether it wants to end this war or not."

Iran's Position at the United Nations General Assembly

Pezeshkian also emphasized Iran's position in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, stating that Tehran will never succumb to American pressures. He noted that both sides still have a long way to go in terms of solutions to end the war. However, these remarks indicate Iran's willingness to engage in dialogue and seek diplomatic solutions.

Consequences of the Iran-U.S. War

The Iran-U.S. war, which began on February 28, started with attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran, followed by Tehran's response to these attacks. These conflicts have resulted in the deaths of thousands and the displacement of millions of people. The President of the United States, Donald Trump, in his recent statements, announced that if no agreement is reached to end the war, he could "destroy" Iran, but also hinted at the possibility of a near agreement.

Meanwhile, Trump has presented varying objectives for the war, identifying one of his main goals as weakening Iran's nuclear capabilities. Iran, which seeks to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, emphasizes its rights as a party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

While the United States is considered a nuclear-armed country, Iran has always claimed that it does not seek to acquire nuclear weapons. These contradictions in the positions of the two countries have added further complexities to the existing crisis.
