This plan is designed to better manage existing crises and challenges in the energy sector and can assist member countries in providing mutual support during critical situations.
Previously, the deputies of the oil and gas ministers of the member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council met on September 28, during the twentieth preliminary meeting of the thirty-seventh Oil Cooperation Committee, which was held online, to discuss topics including the formation of a planning, coordination, and follow-up committee, and supporting the active participation of member countries in upcoming energy conferences.
Consequences of Energy Cooperation in the Region
Strengthening energy cooperation among the Gulf Cooperation Council countries can lead to the creation of a sustainable and secure energy market. Given the climate changes and global challenges in the energy sector, this cooperation can enable member countries to jointly manage upcoming crises and challenges.
Given the high importance of this meeting, it is expected that its outcomes will have significant impacts on the regional energy market and foster further cooperation among member countries.
