The national campaign 'Aman 2' to combat human trafficking in Oman was launched on Sunday in the city of Salalah. This campaign is designed under the slogan "Awareness is everyone's right" and aims to raise public awareness about the dangers of human trafficking, promote a culture of prevention, and support victims.

Campaign Details

This national campaign will continue for one month and includes various awareness programs, events, and activities targeting different social groups. These actions are designed to enhance understanding of the signs of human trafficking, prevention methods, and reporting and assistance channels. Thus, this campaign will contribute to increasing social awareness and strengthening national efforts to combat this crime.

Inaugural Ceremony of the Campaign

The inaugural ceremony of this campaign was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, and was attended by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harithi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman for Political Affairs and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking. The ceremony included a visual presentation showcasing the committee's efforts in raising awareness about the dangers of human trafficking, introducing prevention and protection mechanisms, as well as key programs and initiatives aimed at increasing social awareness and supporting human rights and human dignity.

During the ceremony, the "Wall of Hope" was also inaugurated, which is an accessible electronic system for everyone that allows individuals to write motivational and supportive messages for victims of human trafficking. These messages will be translated into several languages and sent to the "Protection House" that helps provide psychological support to victims and enhances their sense of safety and hope.

The ceremony was attended by several members of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking, as well as a number of officials, specialists, and representatives of relevant institutions and organizations.

Continuing Oman's Efforts

The Sultanate of Oman continues its efforts to combat human trafficking and reduce its risks. These efforts are based on an integrated national framework that emphasizes prevention, awareness, protection, and legal accountability. Oman also emphasizes cooperation and coordination among relevant entities and providing care and support to victims while protecting their rights and dignity.

The national campaign 'Aman 2' represents the continuation of these efforts and addresses the need to raise public awareness about the dangers of human trafficking and prevention methods, as well as instilling the principle that protecting individuals is a shared responsibility. This campaign introduces awareness as one of the fundamental pillars in the fight against this crime.
