The Kingdom Centre in Riyadh, one of the tallest buildings in Saudi Arabia, has issued a mandatory work-from-home order to all its tenants due to the escalation of tensions arising from Houthi attacks. This decision was made on Sunday following several attacks and new security warnings.

Mandatory Remote Work and Security Conditions

The management of the Kingdom Centre announced in an email to tenants that "remote work for all administrative employees is now mandatory until further notice." This decision was made due to the increase in security threats and two incidents of drone interceptions around Riyadh. Additionally, schools in Riyadh and surrounding areas have extended online education for a second week due to this situation.

King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh remains closed following the deaths of 13 people in a major attack. The Saudi coalition, which is involved in the war against the Houthis, reported the deaths of two helicopter pilots in Najran near the Yemen border, attributing these deaths to "technical failure."

Military and Political Developments in the Region

Meanwhile, the Saudi coalition's war with the Iran-backed Houthis has intensified again, with reciprocal attacks reported regularly from both sides. The Egyptian parliament also postponed voting on President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's request for military support authorization for Saudi Arabia, with discussions rescheduled for Monday.

The new Iranian Defense Minister, Mehrdad Aghaei, has also threatened that if U.S. military operations resume, significant damage will be inflicted on the United States and its allies. In this context, the Houthis have announced a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia and claim control over areas around the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

In light of these developments, the Saudi coalition continues to carry out multiple airstrikes on Houthi positions and has reported intercepting two ballistic missiles in southern Saudi Arabia. The security situation in Najran city and the Sulayli region in Riyadh is also under close surveillance due to recent security threats.

The escalation of tensions and Houthi attacks on Saudi targets, including oil facilities and airports, indicates increasing instability in the region. This comes as the Houthis seek to impact key trade routes in the Red Sea.
