Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, recently made important statements warning against any attempts to discuss a new security framework in Europe. He emphasized that such actions, without regard to the end of the Russia-Ukraine war, could have dangerous consequences for the European Union.
Risks of Agreements Without Resolving the Crisis
Zelensky stressed in his remarks that if European countries are looking to create a new security system, they must first pay attention to the current situation in Ukraine and how to resolve the crisis. He stated that this is particularly important given that Russia continues its military actions.

The President of Ukraine added: "Creating a security framework without resolving the current crisis could lead to increased tensions and instability in the region. We must first address this issue and then seek new solutions." He also noted that any security agreement must include appropriate guarantees for Ukraine's security.
Need for Unity in Europe
Zelensky also highlighted the importance of unity among European countries in the face of Russian threats, stating: "The European Union must show that it is united against these challenges and will not allow the security of member states to be compromised in any way." He believes that close cooperation between European countries and the United States in this regard is vital and should be continuously strengthened.
On the other hand, Zelensky warned that any weakening of efforts to support Ukraine could strengthen Russia's positions. He said: "We need continued support from our partners so that we can continue the fight against Russian aggression and improve our security situation."
These statements come as some European countries are seeking ways to reduce tensions and create a new security system. Zelensky, emphasizing the need to address the Ukraine crisis, called for a comprehensive and holistic approach in this regard.
